We have been involved with English Setters since
1982. We are dedicated to the happiness, conformation, and health of
our dogs. We are passionate about breed type, believing that each of
us involved with English Setters has a responsibility to ensure that
our gorgeous setters remain true to the breed standard.
We
got our first English Setter in 1982 through our dear friend and mentor
Mary Margaret Ruth of Wickett Kennels. “Sugar” was the epitome
of the English Setter temperament – loving, sweet and a joy to
have around. We quickly added Lincoln to our household another gentle
soul with a truly beautiful head. Our next addition was Liza, my constant
companion and light of our lives for 15 years. It was through our experiences
with Liza that we became interested in the dog show world.
We
chose our kennel name of Pemberley from my favorite novel “Pride
and Prejudice” by Jane Austin. As all true fans of this novel
will remember, Pemberley is the name of Darcy’s ancestral home.
This gorgeous English landmark is pictured directly below. It seemed
to be such a great symbol upon which to base a kennel name.

We
have been actively campaigning our dogs in the show ring since 1984
and competing in the specials ring since 1997. We added a beautiful
Irish Setter to our family in 1997 to bring another dimension to our
setter world. We are proud of the quality of our dogs and their accomplishments.
We
occasionally breed selective litters to be placed in very special, loving
homes.
